Woon Kim
Senior Researcher
Biography
Dr. Woon Kim joined the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety in April 2017. She is responsible for key and complicated data analysis efforts and research related to traffic safety. Currently, she manages multiple projects related to American traffic safety culture, the impact of speed on traffic safety, senior drivers’ traffic safety, and automated vehicle technologies. Previously, she was a safety data manager and analyst in the Maryland Transit Administration, managing daily accident reports and conducting statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, risks and hazards for all modes of public transportation operated by the MTA. Dr. Kim received master’s and doctorate degrees in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
