Abstract
The 2025 Safe Mobility Conference was held in Madison, Wisconsin, from April 7 to April 9, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The event brought together a diverse group of transportation stakeholders, including industry experts, academic researchers, and practitioners from governmental agencies, with the goal of fostering collaboration and building partnerships.
The conference proceedings highlight discussions during three plenary sessions and 22 technical sessions that provided participants with a rich overview of current challenges and innovative strategies and solutions to advance safe mobility.
Plenary speakers addressed foundational questions about mobility: what safe mobility should look like, why it matters, how it can be achieved. Technical sessions covered a wide range of topics and highlighted the critical role of high-quality data in advancing measurable improvements. These technical presentations centered on barriers to improving mobility and ways to overcome them based on experiences from local and state government, academia, and industry.
Collectively, the conference emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing transportation’s most pressing challenges and advancing toward safer and more efficient mobility.
