Biography

Dr. Xi Zhang joined the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety in June 2025. Her research has focused on driver and vehicle behavior, including how countermeasures influence driver actions and how connected and autonomous vehicles behave. She is experienced in data analytics and has contributed to many projects related to traffic safety and operations. Dr. Zhang holds master’s degrees in Traffic Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, China and in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She received her doctorate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona.
