William J. Horrey

Biography
Dr. William J. Horrey joined the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety in August 2017. An experienced human factors professional, Dr. Horrey has led or contributed to many research projects in the areas of driver distraction, driver behavior and safety, human-automation interaction, attention and risk perception. He is the past chair of the Transportation Research Board’s Vehicle User Characteristics Committee and the Publications Division of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. He is also an associate editor of the Human Factors Journal and has served on many national and international committees and working groups. He received his Ph.D. in engineering psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
